HANABIE.’s “Bari Bari Buddy” arrived digitally on October 8 as the ending theme for the anime Reincarnated as a Sword II. A CD and Blu-ray single is scheduled for November 4, followed by the album UMAMI on December 2. Those dates describe three stages of the band’s autumn releases, rather than three versions of the same product.

Yukina and Matsuri share the song’s writing credits; Matsuri and Keita Kawaguchi are credited with the arrangement. The anime connection offers a way into HANABIE. for viewers who might encounter the track during the credits before looking up the band. A release outside the episode then gives those listeners somewhere to continue, without requiring an album purchase first.

October 8: the song

The early digital release is specifically identified as the title track. It brings “Bari Bari Buddy” forward by almost four weeks from the physical single’s date. That gap is useful for anyone who simply wants the new song. It is not a reason to assume that every item announced for the November package is already part of the October release.

November 4: the package

The limited-period production edition contains a two-track CD: “Bari Bari Buddy” and “ICONIC - Yuyoyuppe Remix.” Its Blu-ray carries the anime’s ending video without the on-screen credits. The remix is an alternative treatment of “ICONIC,” while the video is a visual extra. Neither should be counted as another newly written song when comparing what the package contains.

For an anime viewer, that credit-free video may be the reason to choose the physical edition. Someone following the music alone may care more about the remix. Those are different uses for the same release, and more helpful distinctions than treating the extra disc as an automatic upgrade for everybody. Retailer bonuses also differ, so collectors should check the specific store’s offer rather than expect every bonus in one order.

December 2: the album

UMAMI has been announced in standard CD and limited first-press CD-plus-Blu-ray editions. The band’s album notice still lists the CD tracklist as to be determined. Its limited edition promises footage from the Tokyo Zepp Haneda concert on the 2026 Japan tour. That is a live bonus, unlike the anime ending video on the single.

Our recent report on Trivium’s fully listed twelve-track November album shows the difference a completed tracklist makes when following a release. With UMAMI, we know the date and the edition formats, but not the complete contents. “Bari Bari Buddy” is available to explore now; deciding how it fits into the December album has to wait for that missing information.
