SongLyrics.band brings together lyrics and music coverage, but the songs belong to their rights holders. A band's name on a page is an artist credit, not a claim that the band endorses this website. Lyrics, musical works, recordings and supplied images keep their respective copyrights. Our editorial writing does not transfer any of those rights to readers.
Tell us which page is involved
For a copyright concern, send a message to [email protected]; you can also start at our contact page. Please name SongLyrics.band in your message. The site operator handles enquiries for more than one music website, so that detail avoids confusion.
Copy the full address of each affected page and describe the work you own or represent. If the concern is a photo in a news post, identify the photo rather than just the artist. If it is a lyrics entry, name the song and point to that entry. We need to be able to locate the disputed material and understand the rights issue.
What to include in a formal notice
Give us the work's identity, the disputed material's location, your signature and reliable contact information. Explain that you honestly believe the use is not permitted by the owner, a representative or the law. Confirm that your information is accurate and that, under penalty of perjury, you are authorised to act for the owner of the right at issue.
We assess notices and can remove content or restrict access as a claim is handled. Where details are incomplete, we may need clarification. We may also contact the contributor involved. A notice is an allegation to review; it does not give us grounds to promise a result without looking at the material and the information supplied.
Song details, submissions and permissions
Wrong credits, transcription mistakes and broken links can be sent as editorial corrections. Say what needs fixing and include the page address. A rights complaint is different: tell us when the concern is about permission to display something, rather than the accuracy of a lyric.
Contributors should supply only material they are allowed to submit. We can refuse contributions, including repeated abusive or infringing submissions. Reading lyrics here is not a licence to record, distribute or commercially reuse them. For that permission, approach the relevant publisher or other rights holder. SongLyrics.band cannot approve uses of somebody else's work.
