Tickets for Matsuri’s London debut go on general sale this Friday, ahead of a December 14 evening with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Hitsujibungaku and Otoboke Beaver. The Japanese Music Experience has booked all three for Outernet Live. Wednesday’s O2 presale is the first of three advertised openings this week.

Music Way Project presents the event, which falls on a Monday. For fans making a trip, the attraction is a single venue and date shared by three very different acts. Pop, indie rock and punk all have a place on this bill; familiarity with one name should leave room to discover the others.

Three acts in one evening

Kyary brings the pop connection and her colourful Harajuku visual identity. Hitsujibungaku offer an indie-band route into the programme, including for an audience that encountered their music through Jujutsu Kaisen. Otoboke Beaver bring the punk counterpart. Their common Japanese origin is the link between the bookings, rather than a promise of one uniform sound.

For an introduction to Otoboke Beaver, this year’s Is The New Album Out Yet? is a particularly short starting point. Released on April 15, it contains three tracks with listed lengths of 1:04, 0:55 and 1:32. Together they total 3:31. That gives a newcomer a compact recent release to explore before committing to a full album. It is a listening suggestion, not a prediction of the London setlist.

Outernet’s concert listing gives 7pm doors and an 11pm curfew. The four hours between them include getting the audience in and whatever running arrangements the evening requires. Individual stage times have not been published on the pages checked, and that door-to-curfew span should not be used as the duration of any artist’s performance.

Three mornings for tickets

The organiser’s schedule gives each opening as 10am UK time:

  • Wednesday, November 4: O2 presale.
  • Thursday, November 5: Live Nation presale.
  • Friday, November 6: general sale.

Those are all 1pm in Turkey. By Wednesday evening, the O2 opening has already happened. Thursday’s Live Nation presale is next, and its event page offers registration. General sale follows on Friday, thirty-eight days before the show. Someone booking from abroad has a little over five weeks between that opening and the trip.

A group booking also needs to account for the age rule. The event is fourteen-plus; anyone aged fourteen to sixteen must be accompanied by an adult. Physical photo ID is required. For a younger fan, confirming the accompanying adult and bringing the right identification are practical parts of the plan, alongside choosing a ticket.

The three sale dates concern access to the same December evening. Once tickets are arranged, the remaining programme detail to watch for is the running order. Until then, there is time to follow a familiar artist into the two other corners of this lineup.
