I spent it all, squander my inheritance
Sin felt good for a season but it ended in embarrassment
Then came the famine I was living in lack
Gave it all to the devil didn't get nothing back
The only job I could find was feeding the pigs
But man I'm so hungry I could eat with the pigs
Then I came to my senses and begin to declare
Even at my Father's house there's food to spare

I'm going back, I'm no longer worthy to be His Son
I'm going back to beg for forgiveness for what I've done
And on my way back with this mud on my face
I look up to see somebody running my way
It's my dad He got to me before I could speak
It's my dad He hugged me then He kissed me on the cheek
I said Father wait I'm really not worthy
Let me tell you what I've done and why I'm so dirty
But then He looked to His servants He said "Quick, Run, get the best robe in the house and put it on my son
Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet
For my son has come home so lets celebrate and eat"
And for the first time I could see the light again
