Miley Cyrus Drops ‘Something Beautiful’ Album, Hints at Experimental Future Project
Pop diva Miley Cyrus is back with a bang via her new studio album, Something Beautiful, which dropped on Friday, May 30. This eagerly awaited record features 13 tracks and showcases Cyrus' artistry with a collection she calls a "one-of-a-kind pop opera that draws on a fantasy." The record features lead singles like "Prelude," "Something Beautiful," "End of the World," and "More to Lose," all of which provide their own melody and production flair. While the singles have elements of stylistic features, the album is generally much more narrative-driven and theatrical than previous album releases. Additionally, collaborations on the project further enrich the album; Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes collaborates with Cyrus on "Walk of Fame," and "Every Girl You've Ever Loved," features a guest appearance from supermodel Naomi Campbell.

A Visual Experience: One-Night-Only Film Premiere
Above all, Something Beautiful isn’t just a musical journey—it’s a visual one as well. Accompanying the album is a full-length film that will hit theaters for a one-night-only screening in the U.S. and Canada on June 12. International audiences won’t miss out either, with a global showing set for June 27. Nonetheless, this isn’t just a promotional gimmick. Cyrus had previously hinted at creating a visual album, drawing inspiration from legendary projects like Pink Floyd’s The Wall. However, she described hers as “more glamorous and filled with pop culture.” On the contrary, instead of sticking to retro influences, she modernizes the format with bold style choices and vibrant cinematography.
Looking Ahead: A Glimpse Into Miley’s Next Phase
So while fans are enjoying Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus is already focused on what's next. During a private performance at the famous Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on May 28, she played some old hits and new songs from her latest album. Still, the pop star even surprised fans when she teased her next musical chapter, saying it would be "very experimental." As compared to her last record, which she referred to as "just the appetizer", this album is set to take even bigger artistic leaps. No matter what comes next, one thing is clear: Cyrus is still challenging the standard of pop music on her terms.
